3671771 - "You have selected a position that may only be assigned to one employee at a time." during New Hire Data Review - Onboarding

During New Hire Data Review, when attempting to assign a position to a candidate, the system displays the error message:

• You have selected a position that may only be assigned to one employee at a time.
• An employee has already been assigned on 12/12/1234. Please choose another position.

1. Log in as the user performing the New Hire Data Review.
2. Navigate to the Onboarding Dashboard.
3. Search for the candidate.
4. Click start button of New Hire Data Review task, in the Position field, validate and observe the error message displayed: "You have selected a position that may only be assigned to one employee at a time."

The position entered is already assigned to an employee.

Option 1. If the position must allow multiple employees:

1. Go to Manage Data.
2. Search for the position.
3. Locate the specific position that needs to be used.
4. Verify the "Multiple Incumbents Allowed" field configuration.
5. If "Multiple Incumbents Allowed" is not enabled, enable it under Object Definition -> Position.

Option 2. If the position cannot allow multiple employees:

• To check who is currently assigned to a position, go to Org Chart > Position Chart, change the "As of" date to a future date, and look up the position > this will show the person currently assigned to it.
• Once you've confirmed the position is occupied, select a different position that has no incumbent assigned.
