3671981 - Prerequisites fail when applying 4.3 patches after 2025 install / uninstall

Symptom

  • Installation of a 4.3 patch is failing at the prerequisites screen, eg:
    Failed: Disk Space Check (Critical)
            Information: Please make sure that the necessary disk space is available to proceed with the installation. For more information, see
    https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/pam.
    Failed: Operating system patch level (Critical)
            Information: [CheckPatchLevelFailReason]
    Failed: Minimum support package version (Critical)
            Information: This update is for SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.3 SP4, which was not found on the system. You must install it before this
    installation can continue.
    Failed: Updates are applicable (Optional)
            Information: SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4 is a later version than this update. Do not continue with this update.
    Failed: Disk space in /var (Critical)
            Information: The /var folder does not have enough free disk space. You must make available 20 MB or more of disk space before the installation
    can continue.
    Succeeded: Information Steward and Data Services compatibility (Optional)
    Succeeded: BI platform server 4 installed (Critical)
    Succeeded: Root user rights (Critical)

  • This happened after installing / uninstalling BI 2025

  • Installation logs show errors eg:
    Error: Couldn't open library '<INSTALLMEDIADIR>/dunit/product.boe64one.patch-4.3.4.14-core-32/actions/libmultiplatformactions.so'.  Error message: <INSTALLMEDIADIR>/dunit/product.boe64one.patch-4.3.4.14-core-32/actions/libmultiplatformactions.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
