Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to a job requisition you want to reopen.
- Change the status of the requisition to open.
- Click the “Reopen Job Requisition” button.
- Observe the error message: “The job requisition cannot be reopened because there are no open positions remaining for this job requisition.”
Cause
The number of openings for the job requisitions are filled.
Resolution
Please, consider the way the system is currently designed, all candidates that are placed into the categories below, will decrease the number of opening positions:
a. PRESTART
b. HIRED
c. ONBOARD
d. EMPLOYEE
So, it is expected to be prompted to a system message informing the requisition cannot be re-opened if the number of candidate placed into the applicant stages which are associated to the categories above have met the same number of openings specified for the job requisition.
For any valid reason (except hiring), you can enable the option "Allow reopen of closed requisitions even if number of remaining openings is less than 1" in Admin Center > Manage Recruiting Settings.
This option will allow you to reopen closed job requisitions whose number of openings have been filled.
