Symptom

When adding a new learning activity to an existing development goal in the development section of the performance form, an error occurs:

Search by Attribute failed ???Value is out of range.???

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors Career Development Planning 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Home > Performance > Inbox
  2. Access the affected form > Scroll to the Development Plan section
  3. Click Learning Activities under the existing goal in the section
  4. Click Add New Learning Activity > Search By Attribute
  5. Receive error

Cause

The issue is due to the lack of proficiency level for skills mapped to certain roles.

Resolution

Configure proficiency levels for all skills mapped to all roles.

  1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content
  2. Search the affected roles
  3. Configure proficiency levels for all skills for each role.
