3672123 - Onboarding Welcome email reset password link expiry

Customers want to extend the Welcome Email Password Reset link expiry for external candidates in Onboarding. They are unsure which configuration setting to use and may notice that one of the fields is non-editable.

They’ve reviewed both configuration areas in:

• Admin Center -> Password & Login Policy Settings - Applied to All Employees -> “Set Welcome Password and Reset Password link expiration (in days)”
  
   

• Admin Center ->Password & Login Policy Settings -Applied to External Candidates and Agencies -> “Set Welcome Password and Reset Password link expiration (in days)
  
   

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

• Login to the instance with an admin account that has access to system configuration.

  Navigate to:

  1. Admin Center -> Password & Login Policy Settings - Applied to All Employees -> “Set Welcome Password and Reset Password link expiration (in days)” .
  2. Admin Center ->Password & Login Policy Settings -Applied to External Candidates and Agencies -> “Set Welcome Password and Reset Password link expiration (in days)".

• The setting under “Applied to All Employees” controls the expiration of the reset password URL for all users, including both internal employees and external candidates.

• The setting under “Applied to External Candidates and Agencies” does not affect the password reset URL. It is informational only and therefore appears non-editable.

Please follow below configuration:

• Admin Center -> Password & Login Policy Settings - Applied to All Employees -> “Set Welcome Password and Reset Password link expiration (in days)” is the one that controls the expiration of the reset password URL.
• This setting applies to all users: both internal employees and external candidates. It is not limited to internal users only.
  
  
• On the other hand, the configuration under: 
  Admin Center ->Password & Login Policy Settings -Applied to External Candidates and Agencies -> “Set Welcome Password and Reset Password link expiration (in days) is not used for the reset password URL.
