3672835 - Automated Position to Job Sync job creates an empty time slice in Job Information

After the automated position to job sync job runs, an empty time slice is created in job information.

This happens in the scenario where an offset is configured for the job in Position Management settings and there are two future-dated records in job information wherein the data in job info is out of sync with the position.

After the job runs and syncs the data from position to job info, an empty time slice is created as a sequence number 2 for the second future-dated job info record.

• Position Management

1. Create two future-dated job info records (for e.g., 20th Nov 2025 and 1st Dec 2025) wherein the data in job info is out of sync with the position data.
2. Configure the offset as 30 for the Automated Position to Job Sync job in Position Management Settings
3. Automated Position to Job Sync job runs daily as scheduled
4. Observe that the system inserts a sequence number 2 for both 20th Nov and 1st Dec 2025 records and the position data is syncd to job info
5. However, the 1st Dec 2025 (sequence number 2 record) is an empty time slice as there is no change compared to the sequence number 1 record. 

This is an expected behavior by design.

Engineering team has confirmed that the suppression of the empty time slice is not possible because the sequence number 1 & 2 (of the 1st Dec 2025 record, in the above example) are related records and are always saved together. 

Workaround: 

Set the "Offset in Days" in the Position Management Settings -> Synchronisation to 0 so that only present data will be adjusted. This way, the job will only consider records whose effective start date is the same day as the day the job runs
