3672988 - iOS Mobile issue with Reimagined Candidate Experience - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • Candidates using iOS devices are unable to apply to jobs or view profile/application when accessing the new redesigned candidate experience.
  • The issue occurs in Safari and Google Chrome browsers on IOS devices.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors Marketing

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enable the "Reimagined Candidate Experience" in Manage Recruiting Settings.
  2. Use an IOS device  to access the application page via Safari or Google Chrome.
  3. Click on the "Apply Now" button and log in using credentials - Issues.
  4. Attempt to view the candidate profile or application - Issues.

Cause

  • The new candidate experience does not support custom JavaScript in the Career Site Builder (CSB) for ios devices.
  • The Redesign Workbench also only works for v18.0 and above.
  • A conflict exists between the RMK wrapper script and the new UI rendering, resulting in the unavailability of mobile apply functionality on ios devices.

Resolution

v 18 Below iOS

The engineering team has confirmed that the new CX experience will not work for the v18 below iOS.

v 18 and above iOS

The reason its not working for the v18 below iOS is because of the custom javascripts in CSB. Custom Javascript are not supported in CSB at all.

Due to the custom scripts, Mobile Apply remains unavailable on iOS devices for the New Candidate Experience due to a conflict between the RMK wrapper script and the new UI rendering.

As a workaround :

    • Add class="wrapperExclude" to both the external and inline script.
    • Remove the src attribute from the inline script (it must remain inline only).

NOTE : Any other issues encountered after implementing this workaround will be the sole responsibility of the Implementation Partner to resolve. The Support team will not provide assistance for custom JavaScript, as such customizations are not recommended in CSB in the first place.
