Symptom

Error while publishing payload to endpoint. Business Key: ****-****-****-****-************. Status code: 422.

Reproducing the Issue

In Execution Manager Dashboard:

Go to SuccessFactors Instance.
In the Admin Center, search Execution Manager.
Select Pre-delivered integrations.
Check the date range for Real-time Sync.
Check Error, getting error 422. (Sample error below).

Error while publishing payload to endpoint. Business Key: ****-****-****-****-************. Status code: 422.

Cause

The 422 error indicates that the server understood the content type of the request and its syntax was correct, but it was unable to process the contained instructions due to semantic errors or issues with the request's content.

This means that a field on your Source System's (SuccessFactors) transformation rule is not getting read correctly but the IPS is unable to process it correctly.

Resolution

On your IAS admin console, you can check the following points:

Ensure that the transformation rule is correct and using all the supported fields for API Version 2.
Verify that your API user, if any, have the correct RBP permissions for all the fields that you are getting from SuccessFactors on your source transformation rule. This is to ensure that your API is sending all the user data from SF -> IAS with no RBP restrictions.
