3673380 - UX consistency-related changes with SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition

Symptom

Context

With recent release happens after Dec-12, 2025, UX consistency-related (UXC) changes to the Document Object Model (DOM) are delivered with SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition. During the next months, administrators can choose whether to turn on or off the UXC changes per site.

The properties associated with the new UXC changes can be found in the Site Settings of the site, under the Site Branding section.

The Apply New Shell bar toggle has two states:

  • OFF: The UXC changes won’t be applied, and the site will continue to be rendered the same way.
  • ON: The site will be rendered with the UXC changes, i.e. with the updated Shell header component.

In addition, when the UXC changes are turned on, the administrators can choose to apply more updates:

  • Custom Label – changing this value results enables you to set a custom name in the site header at runtime.
  • Custom Logo and Alternative Text – enables you to provide a custom logo that will be displayed in the site header at runtime.

As of release happens after Dec-12, 2025, the default value of this setting is OFF, and administrators can turn it on per site to validate the UXC updates for their systems. Newly created sites will be rendered with UXC changes by default.

As of a future release (to happen by the end of March 2026), all sites will start rendering with UXC changes by default, while administrators will still be able to turn it off manually.

In alignment with SAP-wide compliance regulations and the ongoing UX modernization initiative, the toggle option will be removed by the end of June 2026. From that point onwards, all SAP Build Work Zone sites will adopt the renovated UX design by default.

This step ensures consistency with SAP’s latest user experience standards while providing customers sufficient time to prepare and adjust their environments prior to the transition.

Symptom
