3673431 - Error message occurs when updating the "Adapt Position “To Be Hired” Status After Imports" field in Position Management Settings

The below error message is thrown when updating the "Adapt Position “To Be Hired” Status After Imports" field in Position Management Settings.

• You need to create the HrisSLEventPublishConfig MDF object first if you want to change the Position Management import settings to “Yes.” 
• For information on how to create the the HrisSLEventPublishConfig MDF object, please refer to “Centralized Services HRIS Event Publishing Configuration Object for Position Follow-Up Processes after Imports” in the Implementing Position Management guide on https://help.sap.com/.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Position Management

1. Attempt to update the field "Adapt Position “To Be Hired” Status After Imports" field under Position Management Settings > Import tab.
2. Observe an error message that prevents the update.
3. Error: You need to create the HrisSLEventPublishConfig MDF object first if you want to change the Position Management import settings to “Yes.”

• This validation is introduced in 2H 2025 release as one of the Enhancements to Employee Central Position Management Validations. Prior to 2H 2025 release, the system didn't show this error message.    
• The system now displays an error message when you try changing the Position Management Settings for import but the Employee Central Event Publishing Configuration Object (HrisSLEventPublishConfig) is missing in your system.
• This validation is introduced to help avoid misconfiguration.

1. Create the "Employee Central Event Publishing Configuration Object(HrisSLEventPublishConfig)" under Manage Data
2. Select External Code as "Person and Employment Event Publishing"
3. Set the effectiveStatus to Active.
4. Set the enableEventPublish to Yes.

If the "Employee Central Event Publishing Configuration Object" object cannot be found in Manage Data, verify whether the necessary permission for this object is granted or not.
