3673679 - Latest Editing and History UI HRIS job information permission(s) not respected – 2H2025

Symptom

In the latest people profile, job information permission(s) are not respected in latest edit UI, when accessing via the edit/pencil icon.

Permissions are respected when editing via 'take action' on the profile, as this retrieves the legacy edit UI.

In order to verify you are using the latest edit UI, please review if the setting ‘Enable the latest editing and history UI for employee central HRIS entities on full profile’ is enabled in Configure Latest People Profile UI.

Reproducing the Issue

 

  1. Log in to SF instance
  2. Remove element permission e.g. ‘cost center’.
  3. Proxy as user within MSS role -> navigate to any direct report's profile.
    1. Take action -> permission is respected.
    2. Pencil icon -> permission is not respected.

Cause

The field is editable because the logged in user might have one of the below permission: 

  • Employee Central HRIS OData API (read-only) OR
  • Employee Central HRIS OData API (editable) OR
  • Employee Central Import Entities > Job Information

Resolution

  • Employee Central HRIS OData API (read-only) and Employee Central HRIS OData API (editable) permissions are intended to be used only for system administrators in order to perform API actions, hence is not recommended to provided such permissions for regular users. 
  • Employee Central Import Entities e.g. Job Information, and target population centric, permits the granted user to edit all job information via Latest Edit UIs.
  • Please remove these permissions from the logged in user:
    • Employee Central HRIS OData API (read-only)
    • Employee Central HRIS OData API (editable) 
    • Employee Central Import Entities > Job Information
