3673845 - Blank Time Type Observed in Employee Self-Service (ESS) Time Sheet

When editing the timesheet in the Self-Services Overview, a blank entry appears in the Time Type dropdown.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Home work center.
2. Navigate to Self-Services Overview.
3. Open the Edit Time Sheet option.
4. Select the desired day and click on the corresponding time (hours) field.
5. Open the Time Types dropdown list.
6. Observe that the first entry in the list appears blank.

In the Activity “Default Values for Time Recording” in Business Configuration, the field “Time Recording using Service Product” has not been defined.

As a result, when accessing the Time Type selection in the ESS Time Sheet, the system attempts to retrieve a default time type. Since no default is set, the system displays a blank entry. This behavior is expected when the default time type is missing.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Open Overview.
3. Search with Default Values for Time Recording-<country>.
4. Select View.
5. Update the Default Value for Time Recording using Service Product with any default time type.
6. Save and close.
7. After performing the changes, verify the behavior in the ESS(Employee Self Service) time sheet.
