Symptom
When changing the Effective Start Date of Payment Information while hiring a user, there is the error message "Sorry, it is not possible to maintain payment information if there is no job information or no country/region in job information".
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Add a new employee using the "Add New Employee" process.
- Go through the required fields and input the hire date (e.g., 13 Oct 2025).
- Select the effective start date of payment information to match the hire date.
- Attempt to proceed to other fields; the system displays the error message: "Sorry, it is not possible to maintain payment information if there is no job information or no country/region in job information."
Cause
The effective start date for Payment Information can only be created after the Job Information record is saved. By default, the effective start date of Payment Information is the employee’s hire date. Therefore, there is no need to manually enter an effective start date during the hiring process, as this will trigger an error.
Resolution
- Go to Manage Data > Personal Information Screen Lookup;
- Find the PaymentInformationV3;
- Copy the screenId name;
- Go to Manage Configuration UI;
- Find the screenId from step 3;
- In the field for Effective Date, click in the pencil to edit;
- Set field Visible to NO;
- Save.
