3673877 - SAC: Error with "Recommended Planning Area" with Auto-Generate based on in the table context option

1. In Table - Builder, Set "Recommended Planning Area" with Auto-Generate based on in the table context option
    
2. Errors during data input in SAC table, for example: 
    
   
   1. Sorry, we couldn't carry out your data entry because all leaf member combinations for this cell are excluded by filters. Please check any advanced filters or restricted members on the account or cross calculation dimensions, or contact the story owner. 
   2. Data can't be changed because it is for one or more members that are outside of the planning area of this version. The members come from the following dimensions: ACCOUNT.
   3. Outside of Planning Area: Data can't be changed because it is for one or more members that are outside of the planning area of this version.
   4. Unable to update your data because the cell is outside of the planning area. The cell is sourced from a calculation where a selected dimension member is out of the table context.

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. In Table - Builder, Set "Recommended Planning Area" with Auto-Generate based on in the table context option
2. Set the context filter of page/table for one period: for example. 2026.01
3. Enter data in 2026.01/Account: X data region
4. Pop-up:  “Data can't be changed because it is for one or more members that are outside of the planning area of this version. The members come from the following dimensions: ACCOUNT.”
5. If turning off the Auto-Generate based on in the table context option, then the data input is successful

1. The data entry includes a specific account dimension member, and that account member has a formula.
2. The account formula includes elements outside of the planning area
3. For example:
   1. Table Context(filter) is 2026.Jan and Planning Area is set only Date:2026.Jan.
   2. Account member: X involves Account member Y in the formula
   3. Nested Account member Y involves Time Navigation (Time Shift) formula: for example,  Previous("Year", 1).Last("Month", 1)
   4. As a result, the involved formula includes elements outside of the planning area.(2025.Dec)
4. The current limitation of the "Auto-Generate Planning Area" feature is that it cannot correctly determine the Planning Area scope if Time Navigation (Time Shift) is used in an account formula.  

1. SAP Developers is aware of this Time Navigation limitation in Planning area and developers are working on a future solution
    
2. Please consider following workaround in the current situation:
   • Option 1: Disable the Auto-Generate Planning Area option
   • Option 2: Set the Time filter with a sufficiently wide range that takes into account the time shift in the account formula.
