3673922 - How the SAP_SYSTEM01 user works in SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Symptom

How the SAP_SYSTEM01 is used and requested when creating Technical IDs.

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud V2
  • SAP Service Cloud V2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Review the audit logs in the system settings (Settings > All Settings).
  2. Observe the creation of technical IDs by SAP_SYSTEM01 within the sandbox and development instances.
  3. Note that SAP_SYSTEM01 is not visible in the system UI but is associated with the creation of technical IDs.

Resolution

SAP_SYSTEM01 is a Service Account User. These are created at Tenant Level. They cannot be created using HTTP APIs and are auto created by IAM services.

  • Each tenant in Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 will also have a Service Account User (SAP_SYSTEM01) created with all-zero UUID (00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000).
  • SAP_SYSTEM01 user is created in response to tenant create event.
  • SAP_SYSTEM01 user cannot be used to login to the tenant.
  • SAP_SYSTEM01 user can be used for any non-interactive user access and updates in the tenant, to ensure that all access and updates are always based on a valid Tenant User
