3673989 - Approved record missing from custom object portlet

Symptom

  • Approved record missing from custom object portlet.
  • Previous record is not displayed when a new record is approved for the same effective date.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access the instance.
  2. Navigate to Employee Files.
  3. Open the custom object portlet.
  4. Insert a new record and submit the workflow for approval.
  5. After approval, observe that the data is populated in the portlet.
  6. Insert another record with the same effective date as the previous one and submit the workflow.
  7. After approval of the second record, observe that there is no trace of the data submitted in step 4 in the portlet.

Cause

Expected behavior when effective dating is set as Basic

Resolution

  • When an object has its effective dating set as "Basic", a record can be inserted or modified only once per day (once per effective date).
  • If multiple changes are made to a record with the same effective date, only the latest approved record will be reflected in the portlet.
  • This is the expected system behavior based on the configuration of the effective dating field.
  • If the business requires multiple records to be inserted for the same effective date, the effective dating needs to be updated to MCPD (Multiple Changes per Day).
