3674182 - Unintended Question Marks Displayed in Custom Error Messages in Time Sheet UI

Symptom

  • There is a business rule defined with a custom error message.
  • The rule is triggered as expected.
  • However, the displayed error message contains unintended question marks: ???Sorry, we couldn't save the time sheet.(custom error message)???

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Time Sheet

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Time Sheet UI
  2. Copy and Paste the time recordings
  3. Observe the error message displayed: ???Sorry, we couldn't save the time sheet.(custom error message)???

Cause

Known Error. This issue occurs only when time recordings are created using copy-paste function.

Resolution

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 1H 2026 release.
The release timelines for next year will be published soon on the SAP Community at the following link: SAP SuccessFactors Product Release & Road Map Information. 

Workaround: Please create the recordings manually instead of Copy/Paste. In this scenario the unintended question marks do not appear in the custom error messages.
