3674551 - [Internal] SSO token or User password is empty error appears when using BEx data source in BI launchpad with STS SSO

Symptom

  • Unable to create/open WEBI report in BI launchpad when OLAP connection configured for SSO authentication and below error appears:

ConnectionString>>,<com.businessobjects.mds.olap.OlapException: [Internal] SSO token or User password is empty.

  • No error appears for predefined authentication. 
  • Below error appears in APS STS service logs:

STS: A java.security.UnrecoverableKeyException occurred; original exception message Get Key failed: Given final block not properly padded. Such issues can arise if a bad key is used during decryption.
