Symptom
When a production order is set to Technically Completed (TECO), all components visible in the component overview screen are flagged with a deletion indicator.
If the TECO status is revoked, the deletion indicator is automatically removed (unchecked).
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Reproducing the Issue
- Set the Technically Completed (TECO) status for the order (e.g., using the "Functions" menu or the status icon/button).
- Check the Components Overview. All components now display the deletion indicator (checkbox checked).
- To verify, Revoke TECO status.
- The components immediately return to their normal state (deletion indicator unchecked).
Cause
This process is standard system functionality and occurs once a released production order is set to TECO.
Resolution
The TECO status signifies that the production order is complete from a logistical standpoint. By applying the deletion indicator to the components, the system essentially locks the Bill of Materials (BOM) data for that specific order.
This action prevents any further master data changes to the components, such as adding new ones, deleting existing ones, or changing required quantities.
To make any modifications to the order's components, you must first revoke the TECO status. Once revoked, the deletion indicators are removed, and the components become modifiable again.
