3674585 - Upgrade of SAP HANA database not completing fully still shows previous version

Symptom

  • Upgrade from SAP HANA Database version 2.00.059.17 to 2.00.079.06 does not complete fully.
  • The SAP HANA system version remains at previous version after the upgrade, as verified using the command hdbsql option`\s`.
  • Logs do not indicate any errors during the upgrade process.
  • Errors detected during the hdblcm -`check_installation` process, include incorrect directory permissions.
    • hdbcheck.err

      <hostname> - Link '/hana/shared/<sid>/HDB##/exe' not found on host '<hostname>'
      <hostname> - File '/hana/shared/<sid./hdbclient/deprecated/calcviewapi/HANACalculationViewAPI-Cloud-1.5.5-javadoc.jar' has mode 2444 instead of 444 on host '<hostname>'
      <hostname> - Directory '/usr/sap' belongs to the user id '202' instead of '0' on host '<hostname>'

  • The upgrade was run with the `--ignore=check_signature_file` parameter.
