3674954 - Syntax error in PostgreSQL index expression due to incorrect placement of ASC or DESC - SAP PD

Symptom

  • In a PostgreSQL Physical Data Model (PDM), an index expression is customized with options such as NULLS FIRST or NULLS LAST.
  • PD appends the sorting order option (ASC or DESC) at the end of the index expression.
  • Executing the generated SQL results in a syntax error:
       SQL Error [42601]: ERROR: syntax error at or near 'ASC'.
