Symptom
- Employees are unable to access their inactive profiles despite having the appropriate permission role assigned.
- The Context Switcher to the inactive profile is visible on the page header, but does not display the inactive profile upon clicking.
- The feature does not function in proxy mode.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Attempt to access inactive profiles for employees with multiple assignments (e.g., active home assignment and inactive global assignment).
- Observe that the switch to the inactive profile is visible on the Context Switcher, but clicking on it does not display the inactive profile.
Cause
There is a permission missing for inactive users which gives them access to their profile.
Resolution
As a 2H2025 release enhancement, employees can now access their inactive employment records through self-service, giving them direct control while saving you time and effort. For example, rehired employees can view data from their past inactive employments in the system. Another example is when employees return from a global assignment and can access data from their previous host assignment.
Add inactive users to "Live Profile Access" Permission Role.
NOTE: Since proxy account holder can not be an inactive user, this feature does not work in proxy scenarios. However, when proxying as an user with concurrent employment, Context Switcher will be shown in the Page Header.
