3675928 - Warning Message Displayed When Adding a New Task in Project

Symptom

Warning message appears when adding a new task or phase in the Project Management: The changes made affect the scheduling of the project. In the Project Plan tab, click 'Schedule' to update the changes.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Project Management work center.
  2. Search for the project.
  3. Choose Edit.
  4. Select the main project on the Gantt chart.
  5. Add a task or phase.

Observe the warning message: "The changes made affect the scheduling of the project. In the Project Plan tab, click 'Schedule' to update the changes."

Cause

Resolution

If the project is released, the warning message will display to inform that the changes could affect the already defined dates, these dates are the start and finish dates defined in the scheduling tab. This warning does not prevent saving the changes.
To update the dates, navigate to the Project Plan tab and click "Schedule".
