Symptom
- When processing Fixed Deposit (FD) transactions in the Treasury module, postings are made to the Payment Request Clearing Account instead of the Bank Business Partner account.
- How to post Fixed Deposit transactions to business partner account Instead of Payment Request clearing account.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
1. Perform a fixed deposit purchase in the Treasury module of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
2. Observe the system posting:
- Debit: `XXXXX – Short Term Investment Unaffiliated`
- Credit: `XXXXX – PR Clearing Account`
3. Perform a fixed deposit maturity transaction in the Treasury module of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
4. Observe the system posting:
- Debit: `XXXXX – Cash Receipt (C/S) GL`
Cause
- The system’s standard configuration for Debt and Investment Management posts flows of Fixed Deposit transactions to default accounts (such as Payment Request Clearing Account) instead of the specific Business Partner (bank) accounts.
- This is due to default settings in the Payment Details of the transaction, and additional configuration is needed to specify posting to the Business Partner.
Resolution
To enable postings to the Business Partner account (the bank), follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Payment Details in the Treasury Transaction:
- Go to the relevant Fixed Deposit transaction in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
- Open the transaction and select the Payment Details tab.
2. Adjust Payment Posting Settings:
- Double-click on the relevant payment line (i.e., the '-' row for the outgoing payment).
- In the Control section, set the following:
- Posting: to customer
- Payment Request: Without
- Save your changes.
