Symptom
- The customer reported an issue where users were unable to access purchasing info record details in the “Manage Purchasing Info Records” app.
- Upon attempting to open the details section of an info record, the following error message appeared: “In the context of Data Services, an unknown internal server error occurred.”
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Manage Purchasing Info Records app.
- Click the Go button to display available info records.
- Attempt to navigate to the details section of any info record.
- Observe the system error message: “In the context of Data Services, an unknown internal server error occurred.”
Cause
The issue was caused by an invalid value (‘O’) in the auto-sourcing field within the purchasing info record master data.
The system expects a boolean value (‘X’ or ‘Space’) for proper processing. The invalid entry triggered an internal server error during data retrieval in the Manage Purchasing Info Records app.
Resolution
- Update the auto-sourcing field to contain a valid value (‘X’ or ‘Space’) instead of ‘O’.
- Ensure that availability start and end dates are maintained in ME12 (table EINA, field LIFAB).
- Clear browser and system caches, then retest the navigation in the app.
- Validate that users can now open purchasing info record details without errors.
