Symptom
- Consent message - 'allow or deny access to external services' appears after user login to the system.
- External services, such as maps or location-based features, load automatically in the background without user confirmation.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to the C4C system.
- A consent prompt appears asking the users allow or deny access to external services.
Cause
As a part of 2511 upgrade, a new feature is released, where the C4C application first attempts to access an external site (e.g., Google Maps) to check map availability, users will now see a one-time consent popup. This popup allows users to either agree or deny access to external services that may use location information.
Resolution
- A one-time consent message appears on the home page after login, prompting the user to allow or deny access to external services.
- If allowed, features like maps and location links will function normally.
- If denied, those features will remain unavailable.
- The user’s selection is saved and can be changed anytime by navigating to: User Menu → Settings → External Services → Allow External Maps (On/Off)
