3676583 - URL validation issue in cl_http_utility->if_http_utility~is_valid_url method causing incorrect navigation in SAP S/4hana

Symptom

  • Links in the description column of the assignment block for Business Partners in SAP S/4HANA are not accepted.
  • Modifying the URL by adding or removing a space in the debugger before calling the method cl_http_utility->if_http_utility~is_valid_url allows the URL to be accepted and navigates correctly to the Document Service App.
  • Testing the method cl_http_utility->if_http_utility~is_valid_url via SE24 indicates the URL is valid.
  • Error messages observed in Developer Tools include:
  • "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'checkVisibility')"
  • "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'value')"
  • "Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #C49_W249_V250_V252_/GKV/RM21_BPEAK/GKVBuilCRMDocumentServiceV"
