Symptom

HANA instance fails to start.
In the daemon trace you find entries

w FileIO LockFile.cpp(00081) : Found blocking lock file: /hana/shared/<sid>/exe/linuxx86_64/<HANA revision>/hdbdaemon
e FileIO LockFile.cpp(00351) : Lock file </usr/sap/<sid>/HDB<inst num>/<host>//lock/hdbdaemon@<daemon port>.pid> with pid <num> already exists. Stop the "hdb.sap<sid>_HDB<instance num>" process
