3677824 - Why Won't My Document Approval Email Process? ("exceeds 1000 kilobytes") - SAP Ariba Procurement Email Approvals

When I attempt to approve or reject a document via an approval email, the document's state is not updated, and I receive a response email with the subject "Could not process message" followed by the requested approval action and document ID. E.g., Could not process message. Approve PR2391883, with the email body stating: Your approval email exceeds 1000 kilobytes and is too large to be processed.
