3677888 - Error "Cannot assign; employment dates of user are outside the project dates." While Deleting Customer Project in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

• The error message "Cannot assign; employment dates of user are outside the project dates." is encountered when attempting to delete a customer project in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Attempt to delete a project from SAP S/4HANA via Plan Customer Project app or SAP CI.

1. Go to Project Control - Professional Services 
2. In Project field search for project ID.
3. Click on Plan Customer Project
4. Click on Delete Project.
5. Error message occurs "Cannot assign; employment dates of xxxxxx (xxxxxx refers to employee's name) are outside the project dates"

6. Via webservice in SAP CI

The issue occurs because the project manager’s employment period does not overlap with the project duration.

Since the employment period of a person assigned to a project role must overlap with the project duration by at least one day, the system prevents project deletion when this condition is not met. This is the expected behavior for the Project Manager role.

Please adapt Project Manager work agreements start and end date to overlap with the project duration.
