Symptom
When "Workflow Type" is set as "Group Specific" in the "Configure Benefit Enrollment Process" the dependencies between benefits are not respected.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a dependency between insurance plans
- Medical 1 is dependent of dental 1
- Medical 2 is dependent of dental 2
- Navigate to the profile of the user
- Go to Benefits > Enroll in Open Period
- Select the leading benefit dental 2
- On the next benefit, select the dependent benefit plan Medical 1
- Submit the enrollment triggers a workflow
- When trying to approve the workflow there is no error, which is the expected behavior
Cause
This is a code defect related with the "Workflow Type" being set as "Group Specific" in the "Configure Benefit Enrollment Process".
Resolution
The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed with the patch 2511p4 (11th November Preview deployment). For patch timelines, please review SAP SuccessFactors Patches Knowledge Base
Please note: The provided fix will perform the dependency validation check at the time of plan selection during enrollment itself, and not during the final workflow approval. For any workflows which are already in pending state with a plan selection that is incompatible with the dependency configuration, you will need to decline and start the process again.
Workaround
You can configure the "Workflow Type" being set as "Benefit Specific" in the "Configure Benefit Enrollment Process".
