3678616 - "For data security reasons this field is not selectable" when trying to select field from Canvas reporting

• When attempting to select a from any object in Canvas Report.
• The field is greyed out in selected object.
• The error message displayed is: "For data security reasons this field is not selectable."

• Roles & Permissions

1. Navigate to Report Center and create a new Canvas report.
2. After dragging and dropping any object into the report, attempt to select fields from it.
3. You'll notice that some fields appear greyed out.
4. When you hover over these fields, a message is displayed: 'For data security reasons this field is not selectable.'

• The issue is caused by missing Role-Based Permissions (RBP) for the affected field.

1. Verify that the user creating the advanced report has the appropriate Role-Based Permissions (RBP) for the affected field
2. Navigate to "Manage Permission Roles" in SAP SuccessFactors.
3. Select the role assigned to the affected user.
4. If the field is from Job information object, then under "Employee central effective dated entities," provide permission for the field
5. Ensure that data is maintained for at least one user for the affected field.
