3678617 - SAP HANA System Replication – DR Site Lost Registration After Network Interruption or Restart

Symptom

  • In an SAP HANA System Replication setup (Primary → HA → DR), the DR site shows inactive or disconnected status.

  • The command hdbnsutil -sr_state returns the message “wrong usage” instead of showing the replication mode.

  • The DR host appears operational (services running), but the replication link between HA (secondary) and DR (tertiary) is not active.

  • Alerts and traces (nameserver or indexserver) show entries such as:

     
    communication failure with site <id> disconnected from primary

  • Replication status in HANA Studio or Cockpit appears as Error / Unknown / Not configured.
