3679179 - Edit Background Picture not showing on Public Profile

Symptom

Button to Edit Background Picture is not showing in Public Profile.
Even with the option "Disable background image uploads by employees" disabled, the button to Edit Background Picture is not showing on Public Profile.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Reproducing the Issue

On Configure Latest People Profile > General Settings
The setting "Disable background image uploads by employees" is disabled/unchecked
Go to Public Profile
Button to Edit Background Picture does not appear

Cause

The field isAllowUploadBGPhoto on Manage Data > EmployeeProfilePageConfig > PP3Page (PP3Page) is set to No.

Resolution

Go to Manage Data > EmployeeProfilePageConfig > PP3Page (PP3Page)
Take Action > Make Correction
Change the field isAllowUploadBGPhoto to Yes
The button to Edit Background Picture should appear on the Public Profile now.

NOTE: The setting "Disable background image uploads by employees", available on Configure People Profile as of 2H2025 Release, does not control the visibility of the Edit Background Picture option.

If the setting is disabled/unchecked, a option to Upload images will appear allowing employees to upload their own background images on Edit Background Picture:

If the setting is enabled, the option to upload an image by the employee will not be available.
