3679207 - SAML2 redirects to the wrong ICF service

Symptom

When accessing an ICF service which is not a Fiori application (semantic object), SAML2 is successfully triggered. After authenticating with the Identity Provider (IdP), user expects to be redirected back to the service they originally accessed, but instead they are redirected to a different ICF service.

Observation: if the expected service is a Fiori application using a semantic object (also known as intent / fragment / anchor / hashtag), please refer to below KBAs instead:

  • KBA 2598498 - Fiori intents in HTTP URL do not work using SAML 2.0 authentication
  • KBA 2051210 - Fragments in HTTP URLS are not handled after SAML 2.0 authentication
