3679312 - Error "Creation of billing document request failed. Unable to determine plant for item" in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Try to create a new billing document request from the Manage Project Billing app but receive the error: "Creation of the billing document request failed. Unable to determine a plant for item of reference document. BDR with preceding document has not been created due to item errors."

• Sales and Distribution (SD)
• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to "Manage Project Billing" app.
2. Select the billing element lines that you want to bill.
3. then choose "Prepare Billing".
4. Choose "Submit".
5. Observe the error message: "Creation of the billing document request failed. Unable to determine a plant for item of reference document. BDR with preceding document has not been created due to item errors."

Delivery plant is not maintained correctly. 

1. In the preceding document (Sales Order/Delivery), verify whether the Plant field is maintained for the line item.
2. Ensure that the material is extended to a valid plant and has relevant sales views maintained.
3. Verify that the customer master (Shipping tab) has a valid Delivery Plant maintained.

Once the missing plant is maintained or configuration corrected, recreate the Billing Document Request.
