3679406 - Custom field not exist in journal entry upload template in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

Custom field has been created in app Custom Fields and Logic, but after downloading the template from app Upload General Journal Entries, there is no custom field included in the excel file. Even the usage has been enabled for relevant applications.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a custom field with business context "Accounting: Journal Entry Item (FINS_JOURNAL_ENTRY_ITEM)".
  2. Enable usage for the custom field to display journals and manage journal entries.
  3. Download the upload journal entry template and verify that the custom field is not available.

Cause

Currently business context "Journal Entry Item" is not supported for app Upload General Journal Entries.

Resolution

  1. Create the custom field with the business context "Coding Block".
  2. Enable the usage of the custom field for "Post General Journal Entries".
  3. Verify the upload journal entry template again to ensure the custom field appears correctly.
