3679899 - 554 Transaction Failed error while sending emails to SAP system

Symptom

  • When sending inbound emails to SAP system, the response "554 transaction failed" is returned.
    For example, in Outlook it indicates the email was not delivered successfully, the remote server refused the request.

  • Email can be received in transaction SOIN.

*Important:
This article applies the symptom that email is received in SOIN, but email client (e.g. Outlook) shows error "554 transaction failed".
If the email is not received in SOIN and error "554 transaction failed" occurs in Telnet test (refer to note 607108), check resolutions in KBA 2417443.
