3680038 - Error "Not possible to delete MRP area 1010, as it is assigned to material ABCD" while attempting to delete an MRP area

An error message "Not possible to delete MRP area 1010, as it is assigned to material ABCD" is displayed when trying to delete an existing MRP area entry. 

Deletion steps for MRP areas

1. Change the description in quality system (If the MRP area has not yet been transported to the productive system, you can skip this step and continue with step 5):
   1. Open define MRP areas for plant/storage locations in the quality system (configuration activity ID 103068).
   2. Select the MRP area → Details.
   3. Change the description to include a note such as "Area will be deleted – don’t use".
   4. Save and transport this change to the productive system.
2. Check material assignments in productive system:
   1. Open the configuration activity define MRP areas for plant/storage locations in the productive system frontend.
   2. Select the MRP area on the MRP areas – plant/storage locations screen and choose details.
   3. Choose material overview for the MRP area to find material assignments.
   4. If there are material assignments, note down the materials for the next step.
3. Set deletion indicator for material assignments in production system:
   1. Open "Change Material" app (MM02) for each material.
   2. Go to MRP1 tab → MRP areas.
   3. Set the deletion indicator for the relevant MRP area and choose adopt.
4. Delete assignments in production system:
   1. Open the app "Schedule Unassigning of MRP Areas".
   2. Create a job → select template "Schedule Unassigning of MRP Areas".
   3. Enter a job name.
   4. Deselect "Simulation Mode".
   5. Specify the MRP area and run the job.
   6. Check the job log to ensure all assignments (including dependent data) are deleted successfully.
5. Check material assignments in quality system:
   1. Open define MRP Areas for plant/storage locations in quality system.
   2. Select the MRP area → Details → Material Overview.
   3. Note down if any materials are still assigned.
6. Set deletion indicator in Quality System (if needed):
   1. For each assigned material (from step 5), open "Change Material" (MM02) app in quality system.
   2. Go to MRP1 tab → MRP Areas.
   3. Set the Deletion Indicator and save.
7. Delete assignments in Quality System (If you did not find any material assignments in step 5, you can skip this step and continue with step 8):
   1. Run the app "Schedule Unassigning of MRP Areas".
   2. Create a job with the same steps as in production system (remove simulation mode).
   3. Verify that all assignments and dependent data are removed.
8.  Delete the MRP area in quality system:
   1. Open define MRP areas for plant/storage locations.
   2. Select the MRP area and choose delete.
   3. Save the change
9. Transport the deletion to productive system:
   1. Trigger the transport of the deletion from quality system to production system.
   2. Verify in production system that the MRP area is removed successfully.
