3680531 - Story table widget CSV/Excel export does not preserve custom formatting

Symptom

The "Include Formatting" option does not achieve the desired outcome of preserving the table's visual layout in the exported CSV file.

Environment

 SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In SF, go to Reporting
  2. Open the Story report
  3. Create a table widget in a Story Report.
  4. Apply basic formatting to the table, such as background color for column headers, bold text, text alignment, and word wrap.
  5. Export the table to an CSV file.
  6. Observe that the exported file does not retain the applied formatting, even when the "Include Formatting" option is selected.

Cause

CSV export functionality has limitations in preserving the table's visual layout and formatting due to architectural constraints of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Resolution

Expected behavior. Note that the current export options are functioning as designed, and there is no workaround to set a default format or scope for table exports in Story Reports.

"Include Formatting" option does not export cell color, font styles, and so on. The Include formatting option is related only to keep the scaling, units, and currencies.
