3680540 - Updated Navigation in Apps F0711 Manage Customer Line Items and F0712 Manage Supplier Line Items - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • In the app "Manage Supplier Line Items," when using the Value Help link "Display Journal Entries - New Version" for a Supplier Line Item, the navigation path directs the user to "Line Item in Entry View" instead of "Journal Entry."
  • Users are forced to navigate back within the SAP Shell Bar to reach the correct view.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app "Manage Supplier Line Items."
  2. Use the Value Help link "Display Journal Entries - New Version" for a Supplier Line Item.
  3. Observe that the navigation path directs to "Line Item in Entry View" instead of "Journal Entry."
  4. Users are required to navigate back within the SAP Shell Bar to reach the correct view.

Resolution

Previously, both applications F0711 and F0712 provided two navigation options for the target app F0717: 

  1. Navigation to the journal entry item details. 

  1. Navigation to the journal entry overview. 

With the introduction of the successor app Manage Journal Entries - New Version (F0717A) and the new app Display Journal Entries (F7697), these navigation options have been consolidated.  

Users will now navigate directly to the journal entry item detail screen for app Manage Journal Entries (F0717) to access the data of the corresponding customer line item or supplier line item. This navigation is consistent with the navigation option for the two apps Manage Journal Entries - New Version (F0717A) and the new app Display Journal Entries (F7697). 

In case the user wants to display the journal entry overview, all applications (F0717, F0717A, and F7697) offer a single-click option to navigate from the journal entry item to the journal entry main screen. 

New Navigation Process 

  1. Navigate to Detailed Journal Entry Item: 

  • From the F0711 or F0712 application, select the Journal Entry number and choose “Manage Journal Entries” to access the detailed information about the journal entry item. This will direct to the Manage Journal Entries (F0717) app or the respective successor app. 

  1. Access Journal Entry Overview: 

  • Once on the journal entry item detail screen within the Manage Journal Entries (F0717) app, choose the action “Back to Journal Entry” to navigate to the journal entry main screen. 
    When using the new apps Manage Journal Entries - New Version (F0717A) and the new app Display Journal Entries (F7697), choose the link with the journal entry number in the top left corner to navigate to the journal entry main screen.
