Symptom
A user is automatically following a number of quotes, visible in the "Following" tab of their employee profile. However the user did not manually subscribe.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Click on the user menu in the top right corner.
- Click on the user name.
- Go to the "Following" tab.
- Filter for quotes.
- Observe that there is a high number of quotes.
Cause
For some objects like Lead, quotes, Sales Orders, the system is designed to automatically follow these objects if the user is involved in a transaction of the object. If the user is assigned as the owner or involved in any transaction related to a sales quote, they automatically follow it.
Resolution
- You can consider disabling the follow altogether by going to the user menu > Settings > Company Settings > select "Disable Follow".
- You can review the change log of the quotes to confirm if the user was involved in any transactions related to the quotes.
- If the user does not wish to follow these quotes, they can manually unsubscribe from them.
