3681205 - System Setup Policy - Key Fields, Recommendations, and Best Practices

Symptom

In the WorkForce Time and Attendance (WT&A) policy editor, the System Setup policy is very important policy that is often overlooked. This policy specifies many system level settings, and can be used to customize the classic WT&A experience. This is a singleton policy, meaning that a user would simply select the policy type and would not add policies under it.

It is always recommended to take some time to scan through this policy when setting up a system or doing a review to see if there are any changes or improvements that can be made. Often times these settings are not at the front of mind when doing requirements or implementations, but there are some important settings here that influence how the system behaves and the experience that users will have.

For full details on this policy and all fields, please review the configuration guide or the configuration help in the policy editor. The list below is not comprehensive or an attempt to go through all options. Rather, it is to call out some key fields that most commonly need review or changes to be set appropriately. Fields will be grouped by the tab they appear on.
