Symptom

Email notifications for preliminary billing document workflow are not triggered.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure workflows for preliminary billing documents.
  2. Attempt to set up email notifications for deadlines exceeded using standard templates.
  3. Observe that no standard email template is available for this workflow scenario.

Cause

This is the system behavior as designed. Preliminary billing documents are not included in the standard email notification framework that supports other document types like sales orders and debit memo requests.

Resolution

The standard email notification setup in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition supports the following document types:

  • Sales quotations
  • Sales contracts
  • Sales orders
  • Sales orders without charge
  • Returns orders
  • Credit memo requests
  • Debit memo requests

Preliminary Billing Documents are not include in this framework at this moment.
