Symptom

  • Data Provisioning Agent 2.8.x is unable to establish remote source connection to Snowflake using key-pair authentication.
  • Framework.trc logs indicate issues with private key extraction and compatibility with encryption methods.
  • Error messages can be:
    • "Private key provided is invalid or not supported: Could not generate private key."
    • "Private key provided is invalid or not supported: PBES2 SecretKeyFactory not available."
    • "Could not extract private key using standard JDK. Try setting the JVM argument: -Dnet.snowflake.jdbc.enableBouncyCastle=TRUE."
