3682242 - Automatically Initiating Onboarding from RCM not Working - Onboarding

• Rule to trigger automatic initiation of onboarding is in place however onboarding not initiated automatically
• Rule trace shows an error: "Error during 'user' for property 'value' in path '.statusId.value' for class 'class java.lang.String'".
• Rule to trigger automatic initiation was successful but still onboarding not initiated

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Move a candidate to the onboarding applicant pool
2. Expect Onboarding to be initiated automatically based on condition set in rule
3. Not sent to onboarding automatically
4. Only manual initiation is available

Two possible causes

1. Rule trace indicates an error with rule configuration: "Error during 'user' for property 'value' in path '.statusId.value' for class 'class java.lang.String'".
2. The issue arises because the rule's IF condition was set to check if "Job Application Template.Status.Value" is equal to "Onboarding Applicant Pool". The value was entered manually as text, which the system does not accept.

OR

1. Rule trace indicates rule was triggered successfully and condition is matched
2. In backend logs could see error that candidate should be in a hireable status to be eligible for onboarding auto initiation

1. Ensure pre-requisites listed here are in place
2. Ensure business rule for triggering auto initiation is assigned. Refer here
3. Create a rule trace with user who moves candidate to onboarding status to see how rule is being evaluated to pin point any misconfiguration. 
4. For Cause One:
   1. Update the Automatic Initiation of Onboarding rule.
   2. Modify the IF condition to select the status from the list provided, instead of manually entering the text value.
   3. For example IF Job Application Template.Status is equal to select the status from the list provided.
   4. Save the updated rule configuration.
   5. Move the candidate back to the correct status (Onboarding Applicant Pool).
   6. Verify that onboarding is initiated automatically.
   7. If still onboarding is not initiated automatically
5. For Cause Two:
   1. Identify the Applicant Status Set used in the job req
   2. Navigate to Applicant Status Configuration page
   3. Open the Status Set for the affected job requisition
   4. Inspect each status and ensure you have only one hireable status and one hired status.
   5. Onboarding Status used for the auto initiation should have hireable status and be only hirable status in the status set
   6. Once updated try again to move candidate to correct status and onboarding should be auto initiated
