3682310 - Delay between scheduled time and execution time job

Symptom

  • When performing any action that triggers a job task (MDF import/export, for example), you notice that execution time occurs a few minutes later than the scheduled time.
  • Triggering jobs with "Run Now" or scheduled jobs within an execution time window may also experience a gap between scheduled and execution.
  • The delay between scheduled time and the actual execution time of the job is random.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Cause

It is expected during high traffic periods in Data Center Job Servers.

Resolution

For cases where the job server reach its execution limit, all jobs that have the execution time window in progress will await on queue until the server is available for execution.

The on-queue time will depend on the quantity of jobs are being processed in that time window for specific Data Center.
