3682470 - Payment Block Field not available in Manage Substitution / Validation Rules in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

The Payment Block field is not included in the standard list of Substitution fields in the Manage Substitution / Validation Rules app.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

1. Access the "Manage Substitution and Validation Rules" application.
2. Navigate to the Business Context and Event related to Journal Entry Item for Rule Type Substitution.
3. Attempt to define a Substitution Rule for the Payment Block field.
4. Observe that the Payment Block field is not available for selection.

This is the system standard design.

According to the Help Portal, the Payment Block field is currently not included in the standard list of substitutable fields in the Manage Substitution / Validation Rules app for Journal Entry Item.

As a workaround, set up a Validation Rule for "PaymentBlockingReason" and a Message Text Field in the Manage Substitution and Validation Rules application. Validation Rule will prevent posting if the requirement is not met, and pop up a message to remind the user to enter the corrected value.
