3683301 - Latest Homepage Experience - There is no name showing in the Greetings in the Homepage banner

Symptom

The greeting on the Latest Homepage Experience does not include the user's name.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to customer's instance
  2. Go to Home page

Greetings in the Homepage banner does not include any name of the logged-in user.

Cause

The option "Allow users to personalize their home page" in Company System and Logo Settings is not enabled.

Resolution

Ensure you enable the option "Allow users to personalize their home page" in Company System and Logo Settings. If this setting is not enabled, the name of the user won't appear in the home page Greetings section. 

Make sure to configure the Home Page Settings which can be found at the bottom of the Home Page -- Personalize your home page experience

Or a floating notification on top of it showing as: 

Did you know you can personalize your home page? -> View Settings

Tick the "Greeting by name" setting:

Make sure to hit "Save"

NOTES:

  • When enabled, the current behavior is to show logged-in user's firstName. It is expected that Home Page is consistent with the rest of the suite.
    • A patch is planned to be deployed in 2026, Jan 29th to update Home Page to use fullName (as EC/Profile does).
    • Then, fullName can be configured to use the combination of firstName, lastName, middleName, preferredName - as per customer decision/standards.
  • This enables the users to personalize their home page by choosing which features they want to be displayed.
