3683514 - Rehire Verification Not Triggered After Updating National ID via “Correct My Personal Data” in Form I-9 - Onboarding

Rehire Verification does not restart after an onboardee updates their National ID using the Correct My Personal Data option within Form I-9.

After correcting the National ID in this area, the system does not trigger a new rehire match, and the record later produces an National ID mismatch error when moved to Manage Pending Hires (MPH).

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Candidate completes PDC with incorrect National ID.
2. Rehire Verification shows No Match (expected).
3. In Form I-9, candidate selects Correct My Personal Data.
4. Candidate updates the National ID to the correct value.
5. Save the changes.
6. Observe that Rehire Verification is not triggered again.
7. Complete Onboarding and move the record to Manage Pending Hires.
8. System generates a National ID mismatch error due to the updated National ID not being matched through the rehire process.

This is the current system design. The Correct My Personal Data screen accessed through Form I-9 is not a true Personal Data Collection (PDC) or New Hire Data Review (NHDR) screen, even though it looks similar.

Because of this:

• Only changes made in the actual PDC/NHDR process trigger Rehire Verification.

• Updates made in Correct My Personal Data do not retrigger the rehire match process.

• Hiring Managers updating National ID directly in NHDR will retrigger rehire match, but onboardee changes through Correct My Personal Data will not.

There is no defect. The system is functioning as designed. Changes made via Correct My Personal Data will not automatically restart Rehire Verification.

Recommendation: If restarting rehire match is required, changes must be made through the real PDC/NHDR process.
